Here at QuickandBig.com we are pleased to offer for sale, a rare, Mk 6 Escort Van 55, 1.8D.
Its come to us from a valuable customer, but doesn’t meet our usual retail standards, as such it is being sold as “trade / private” sale. I’ve done about 100 miles in it and it’s a capable and economical load carrier, it was a pleasure to drive, and was in daily use, please remember it will be sold and as seen.
In 2023 £3,622 was spent on the van, it’s also had a replacement cam belt in the last three thousand miles.
The interest in Blue Ovals continue to grow, the values of many older Fords have started to climb. There is also a large following for vans and commercials.
The two door Escort Van was a regular sight on UK roads from 1968 to 2002, and along with the Transit was the load lugger of many trades, many were used and abused on their way to the crusher, they are a rare site now.
Y674MJB was first registered on 16/7/2001, having covered 86,611miles. Our Escort Van has had only 3 previous owners. It was last serviced at 83k, and had a cam belt change at 81k miles.
The Escort Van, is powered by Fords naturally aspirated 1.8 diesel engine, developing a whopping 60 bhp, this is the part of the advert where I normally talk about performance, lets just say, I think for this van we should change our brand name to “slow and economical”!
Its MOT history and backs up its low mileage, the most recent was passed with no advisories and does not expire until 22/10/2026. Numerous old MOT certificates are in the vans file.
The rare Escort Van comes with full book packs, including original wallet, original “blank” service book (worth a few quid on its own), 1 key, plus rear doors security lock key, jack, boarded cargo area and load guard.
It is of course HPI clear and a full HPI report will be available to potential purchasers.
