Here at QuickandBig.com we are pleased to offer for sale, our stunning, low mileage, comprehensively maintained, Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo.
Those of us from “Gen X”, will instantly recognise Fiats “baby Ferrari” has the high water mark of 1990’s Coupe cool. It seemed every motor manufacturer had a coupe in the range, Ford Probe, Vauxhall Calibra, BMW 3 Series Coupe, Alfa GTV, Hyundai Coupe, Peugeot 406 Coupe, Volkswagen Corado, etc etc. It’s a shame the car market is now dominated by same old, same old SUV’s.
The Fiat Coupe was in my view, was the coolest of the bunch (and quickest), in fact I liked them so much in 1996, I took delivery of my first company car, a Red 16V Turbo! The Chris Bangle penned “slasher” design, has certainly aged better than me over the last 30 years!
The Pininfarina built Coupe, was a hit with the motoring press when launched back in 1995, Autocar said: “Say Hello to the new Cossie”, high praise indeed.
As with all modern classics, the buyers guides point to condition and history being crucial, ours does not disappoint on either count, a huge folder of petrol head bed time reading, beautiful original condition, having been stored inside for decades, all backed up by having only driven 49k miles from new.
The facelift, 5 cylinder, 20V Turbo launched in 1996, developing 220bhp, enough for a 6 second dash to 60mph, and onto 149mph. Accompanied by a fantastic 5 pot sound track.
R521LHT was registered on 22/6/1998, having been imported as a new car from Germany when less than a month old. Its original German log book and import papers accompany the car.
It has covered only 49,320 Miles from new. Our Coupe has had only 3 previous keepers, it’s lived away from the elements in London underground garages since at least 2004, and its most recent enthusiastic owner having enjoyed it increasingly sparingly in recent years.
Our lovely example is presented in our view, the best colour combination of Sprint Blue, complimented by Black Leather interior.
In its comprehensive history folder there are numerous receipts for routine maintenance (totaling over £12k), and the original UK service book with 20 service records. 18 of them at Fiat Main Dealers and Specialists. It’s been serviced by respected marque specialist Firela Motors, 13 times in the last 11 thousand miles.
I’m not sure if it’s possible to over service a car, but our 20V Turbo has been serviced at: 6k, 13k, 19k, 27k, 34k, 39k, 40k, 41k, 42k, 43k, 44k, 45k, 46k, 47k, 47k, 48k, 48k, 49k, 49k, 49k. We have just had a major service completed, plus, cam belt (not an easy job on the 20V), water pump and both aux belts replaced.
The 20V Turbo engine, is a tuners dream (600bhp is not unheard of), fortunately ours is beautifully original.
The Fiat Coupe was equipped with everything an aspiring young executive could need, the spec includes: tilt and slide glass sunroof (rare option), 5 speed manual gearbox, remote central locking, clam shell bi xenon head lights, air conditioning (nice and cold, just re gassed for us), drivers / passenger air bags, electric windows, ski hatch, the list goes on.
Its lovely 4 spoke 16 inch, alloy wheels are beautiful, they shod with Pirelli P7 205/50/16 tyres all round. With 7mm of tread front and rear.
Fortunately for us, the Fiat has been garaged for at least the last 2 decades. As a result of its former keepers life (and automotive toys) having moved on, our stunning Coupe found its self not being used since 2022. Our Coupe’s MOT history is nice and clean (without a single advisory for corrosion, unusual for a near 30 year old Fiat). Its last MOT (was passed with no advisories) expired on 14/11/22. Having now been recommissioned for us, it’s booked in for a new MOT soon. In the comprehensive file of history, are every MOT from its first test in 2001 to the most recent.
Our striking Coupe will have an independent 90+ point pre delivery inspection, for the new owners benefit. It is of course clear of any HPI markers for insurance / finance and a full HPI report will be available to potential purchasers.
Along with the huge file of history it also comes with its owners manual / wallet, jack, tools, spare wheel, Alpine stereo remote control, billet aluminium key, spare key, service key and two working remote fobs.
Many thanks for wading through our lengthy description, we believe it’s better to describe our cars fully. It is not in our interest to waste your time or ours with inaccurate descriptions. It does of course have the odd age related imperfection (which used car doesn’t), but it really is excellent.
Our enthusiast owned, Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo really does tick all the QuickandBig.com boxes, its quick, great value, beautifully presented, comprehensively maintained, increasingly rare and appreciating in value.
Please visit the photographs and our terms and conditions again as they form part of the description, and use the “contact us” tab at the top of the page, to arrange a viewing / test drive by appointment. Any inspection is of course welcome. Part exchange particularly if its quick, big or unusual is a pleasure.
